Crichton beeches

Cold, clear winter days give a wonderful light for photographing old trees.  I found this group of beeches near Crichton on a day out scouting for new drawing locations. Many have interesting graffiti as well as lots of forms to investigate, and can be seen on an Ordnance Survey map of 1843-1882 - I'll be back!
