Your invitation to visit my studio
At the end of May I’m taking part in the first Forth Bridges Creative Trail, a weekend of open studios, pop up exhibitions, workshops and creative events centred around the iconic Forth crossings.
As a South Queensferry resident for 25 years I’m delighted that my local area has a new focus for celebrating local artists and makers. A fresh and enthusiastic team have been busy organising a lot in a short time, securing interesting venues and building excitement in the town.
I’ll be opening my home studio for the Trail on Saturday 31st May and Sunday 1st June, between 10am – 5pm.
I’ll be sharing my current works in progress, a selection of finished artwork and of course all the fascinating materials, tools and random stuff that makes up a working artist’s studio.
Check the zoomable map below for all the artists and venues…
How to get to my studio
My garden studio is at Venue 11 on Shore Road, EH30 9SG, just past the library on the left going towards Port Edgar Marina. Look out for signs pointing the way.
By bus: From Edinburgh take the Lothian Country number 43 bus, the nearest stop Police station is 1 minute walk from the studio.
By train: The nearest train station is Dalmeny, then about 15 minutes walk downhill to the shore.
By car: There is a large ticketed car park at Port Edgar Marina, 5 minutes walk from my studio. On street parking is possible but usually busy at weekends.
Accessibility: Unfortunately there is no level access to the studio, with two steps into the garden and eight steps up to the studio itself. My apologies if this excludes you but the garden is on a slope.

While you’re in the area
There are many good shops, cafes, bars and restaurants in South Queensferry, plus lovely walks and wonderful views of the bridges from the harbour. Pedestrians can walk over the Forth Road Bridge for amazing views of the town below.
Public toilets can be found at the Hawes Prom car park and at Port Edgar Marina.
The Forth Bridges website are helping us get the news out about the event and you can find details of everyone taking part @forthbridgescreativetrail on Instagram and Facebook.
